Juliette Gordon Low founded Girl Scouts in 1912. Her nickname was Daisy. To get the money she needed, Daisy sold a magnificent pearl necklace that she dearly loved.
"Jewels are not important but my Girl Scouts are, they need the money more than I need pearls."
No sacrifice was too great. She gave generously of her time and money so that girls could experience everything Girl Scouts has to offer.
